Grandparents Raising Grandchildren of Brevard conducts training programs throughout theyear for grandparents and relative care providers. The course is seven (7) weeks in length, and covers the following subjects:

1. Legal Issues

Custody, Adoption, Visitation Rights and Issues with DCF.

2. Department of Children and Families Protective Investigation Division

Protective Investigation Division / Economic Self-Sufficiency Division.

3. Coping Skills

Techniques on how to cope with your "new" role of parenting again.

4. Children with Special Needs

ADHD, Autism, and behavioral Issues.

5. Parenting Skills

Infants, Adolesents and Teenagers.

6. Resources

Children's Home Society, Devereux, Brevard Family PArtnerships, Social Security, Community services Council, Child Care Association and Circles of Care.

7. Resources

Early LEarning Coalition, Intervention Services, Eckerd Foundation, and Take Stock in Children.
